Description:
Serial number dates this rifle to 1902. The barrel length does not conform to the 1898 Carbine standard 22". It might have had a headspace issue and was turned back after rechambering. Otherwise, this 1898 Springfield is in very good shape .30-40 Krag

Metal Condition: "Good, some blue loss and a bit of rust on the loading gate. The right side of the receiver has been drilled and tapped for a receiver sight with filler screws installed.
Wood Condition: "Good, shows evidence of sanding and refinish. A ""C"" is visible below the magazine cut-off left side.
