Description:
Ruger No. 1-S single shot rifle in the classic 45-70 caliber. This is not a pre-warning rifle but it does have the red buttpad indicating an earlier production.Included are the Ruger dovetail rings. This rifle has been shot and hunted but is still in very good shape. The blueing is excellent, although thr receiver has a slight purple cast to it. The action is smooth and tight. The 1-S comes with sights, a rear folding leaf and a fixed front bead. The stock has numerous small scratches and tiny blemishes (see pictures) but is in overall very good condition. There is one larger scratch, about an inch long, on the left side of the forend just in front of the receiver. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and in my hands it hits where I aim. This is a great rifle for someone who likes to shoot large bores but does not like excessive recoil. It is a very strong action that can handle all factory loads. No box or factory paperwork is included.
