Description:
Stevens 44 rifle chambered for 32 Ideal (center fire.) I believe it is a Range Model 45, with semi-fancy wood and the Swiss buttplate. The action is not stamped with a model number. Buttplate retains traces of nicklel plating. The action is very sound and locks up tightly. There is no color left on the action, and it appears to have had cold blue applied at some time. The barrel is 28," standard for a 45 center fire and the bore is clean and shiny. The rifling appears not as deep as when it was new. The blue appears to be original, and is very good. The tang sight is a high quality modern one, as is the Beach front. The wood is very sound with nicks here and there and a couple of dings, original finish. Barrel and action numbers match. I have 10 new brass cases made by Rocky Mountain. Feel free to ask any questions.
