Description:
Springfield Civil War Musket Model 1864 58 cal Bore VG strong rifling. Mechanically Exc, Wood VG plus with initials JSN on the right side of stock and H ahead of the front triggerguard underside. . Has a original 40” Rd barrel with 1864 date and proof markings and sights Also has an excellent eagle on the bolster. Has original ramrod, bayonet US marked, barrel bands, and sling swivels. The lockplate is excellent with1864 date, strong eagle and US Springfield markings. Has an excellent nipple and US marked original buttplate. Has original bayonet and part of a scabbard marked US the S worn but visible. Metal overall has a brown patina finish with spots of surface rust and some fine pitting in areas.
