Description:
Single shot, 16 ga Western Field break action shotgun. Overall good condition, handsome configuration with excellent quality craftsmanship.
I don't know much about this firearm other than I've owned quite a few Iver Johnson's over the years and the configuration on this one is similar, except with the checkered, Schnabel-like foreend and raised rib that suggests something beyond the field grade Iver's. The 30 in barrel is a really nice touch - great choice for turkey hunting.
Barrel: 30 in full choke, raised solid rib. No proof marks or other markings. Patina and freckling throughout exterior. Shiny and smooth throughout inside.
Stock and Forearm (or Forend): Shows a refinish that was handled well (but not professionally refinished in my opinion). Super solid and no cracks. Checkered, Schnabel-like wood forend fits tight and in great condition, but the forend number does not match SN under tang. Appears to have original butt plate and grip plate.
Receiver, hammer & Trigger Guard: estimate at least 50% case color remains.
Action: locks up tight as designed.
Includes break-down case for easy transport into those back country turkey flocks.
