Description: Remington The Sportsman (U.S Ordnance Marking) in 12 Gauge. The Remington Model 11 and its variant, The Sportsman, was introduced in 1905 as a licensed copy of Browning's Auto-5. Though similar, the Model 11 and Sportsman are different in magazine capacity. The 11 holds 4+1, while the Sportsman only fits 2+1. This shotgun has U.S. Ordnance stampings on the left side of the receiver and on top of the barrel. On the stock is a faint "Ordnance Wheel" featuring a flaming bomb atop two crossed-cannons and circled by a gunner's belt. It also has an F.J.A. cartouche for Colonel Frank J. Atwood. These shotguns were used for training gunners and for sentry duty. The shotgun was manufactured in 1940. 12 Gauge SOLD Chambers: 2 3/4 Inches Metal Condition: Very good Wood Condition: Very good with many handling marks Bore Condition: Bright Barrels: 26 Inches Triggers: Factory Stock Dimensions: LOP 14 Inches Fore End: Checkered walnut Butt Pad: Plastic pad Weight: 8 Lbs 2 oz Sights: Single bead Chokes: Improved Cylinder Item Location: La Vista, NE |
