Description:
Springfield model 1903 chambered in .30-06 with SA marked bayonet. The bayonet and scabbard on this rifle both have the ordance flaming bomb stamp on them. The bayonet is marked with SA Flaming bomb then dated 1918, on reverse side it is US serial number 973324 X10 with another stamp as well. The SA stands for Springfield Armory. The scabbard has a ordance flaming bomb stamp on one side of it.
The rifle itself is in fabulous condition with little wear to it. Front US flaming bomb sight hood is still in tack and attached, on the side of the stock you can see stamped in the wood SADAL over another stamp of what appears to be CC?? The SADAL stands for springfield armory and Donald A Leary(the inspector at springfield armory). On the under side of the stock by the trigger guard is two circled P Which indicates it went through a rebuild at some time in its life, which is not uncommon for these commonly used rifles. The sling on this rifle appears to be era appropriate for the rifle as well. Leather sling with brass attachments. The wood on this rifle is a beautiful piece of walnut with hardly any markings on it overall. The metal has a nice patena to it. Please review the pictures attached for further details.
