SER #7, 303 British, 19” barrel with a bright near excellent bore with strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this 7/1945 dated rifle retain about 70% flaking arsenal applied Suncorite showing moderate loss on the barrel and magazine, the electro-penciled receiver markings remaining crisp. The rifle features a matching serial numbered bolt with No. 0 size bolt head installed, “Crown BNP” nitro proof on the receiver ring with no import markings. The two piece stock is missing the top handguard and lower handguard is in good condition with no cracks displaying the scattered light dings and impact marks consistent with field use of a military carbine. The lightly cleaned stock shows faint British proofs behind the triggerguard with a small chips in the hardened buttpad. The carbine retains the standard open sights with bayonet lug and sight protector ears removed from the flash hider and appears to function well mechanically. A fair example of the Jungle Carbine with excellent bore condition, not often seen on the No. 5 rifles.
