Description: This 1980-81 double action revolver is a Smith & Wesson 25-2 "MODEL 1955" chambered in .45 ACP. It has a fixed pinned serrated ramp Patridge front sight, an adjustable square notch blade micrometer click rear sight, a 6½" full lug serrated ribbed barrel, a 1.53" cylinder, a .500" wide grooved target trigger, a .500" wide checkered target hammer, a 10-groove serrated backstrap and forestrap, a shrouded and knurled knob ejector rod, and Smith & Wesson emblem wood grip panels. This is an earlier production piece with the right side of the barrel marked, "45 CAL. MODEL 1955." The right side of receiver has S&W trademark and marked "Made in U.S.A., Marcas Registradas, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Mass." The bluing is in overall very good to excellent condition, with some noticeable loss at the muzzle, and some light handling wear to the right side of the frame. The wood grip panels are in excellent condition, with no noticeable handling wear nor any chips, cracks, or scratches observable. The bore is very bright and shiny with strong rifling intact.
