Description: This 1920 double action revolver is a Colt Army Special 38 chambered in .38 Special. It has a fixed raised half moon front sight, a grooved frame rear sight, a smooth curved trigger, an unshrouded knurled knob ejector rod, checkered hard rubber grips with COLT in an oval, a checkered hammer, a left side cylinder release, and is 10¼" in overall length. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. PAT'D AUG 5, 1884, JUNE 5, 1900, JULY 4, 1905" and the left side of the barrel is marked "COLT ARMY/SPECIAL .38". The serial number [446516] places the manufacture date in 1920. The bluing is thin overall, but no observable rust or pitting, but with some finish loss in numerous places. The grips are in very good condition, with only minimal handling wear noticeable, but with no chips, scratches, or cracks visible.
