Description: This N frame 1989 double action revolver is a Smith & Wesson 625-2 "MODEL of 1989" chambered in .45 ACP. It has a fixed pinned serrated ramp Patridge front sight, an adjustable square notch blade micrometer click rear sight, a 5" full lug grooved rib barrel, a 1.55" cylinder, a smooth curved trigger, a checkered hammer, a 10-groove serrated backstrap and forestrap, a shrouded and knurled knob ejector rod, and Pachmayer emblem rubber grips. The right side of the barrel etched, "45 CAL MODEL of 1989." The right side of receiver is marked "Made in U.S.A., Marcas Registradas, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Mass." The Satin stainless steel finish is in very good to excellent condition. The grips are in very good to excellent condition. The bore is very bright and shiny with the appearance of some erosion midway of the barrel. It comes with the original factory cardboard box, oil paper, 2-half moon clips, Owner's manual, other paperwork, and PU leather padded soft sided zipper case. The 625-2 was the first model 625 - there was no 625-1. For the first time, an N-frame revolver became available with a five-inch heavy L-frame style barrel with a full underlug plus a rounded K-frame style butt. Both of these factors combine to provide even less felt recoil than is normally experienced by the mild shooting .45 ACP or .45 AR loadings. With these two factors, the 625-2 becomes more than a competition six-gun; it in fact becomes a revolver that comes as close to perfection as any defensive six-gun by the late 1980s. Many more have arrived since, however this one still remains in the top part of the list. The heavy barrel, the mild recoil combined with the fight stopping capabilities of the long proven .45 ACP, the round butt which allows those with small hands, both male and female, to handle the large N-frame Smith & Wesson big bore revolver, and the satin stainless finish, all add up to a first class fighting handgun. .45 ACP SOLD Chambers: 6-round fluted cylinder 1.55" in length Metal Condition: Satin stainless steel finish is in very good to excellent condition Wood Condition: Grips are in very good to excellent condition Bore Condition: "Bore is bright and shiny, with the appearance of some erosion midway of the barrel Barrels: 5" full lug grooved rib barrel Triggers: "Smooth, curved trigger Stock Dimensions: 10⅛" overall length Fore End: "Knurled knob, shrouded ejector rod Butt Pad: The Pachmayr "Gripper" rubber grips Weight: 2 lbs 12 oz Sights: "Pinned Patridge fixed front sight, adjustable square notch blade micrometer click rear sight Item Location: Wichita, KS |
