Screw heads look unmolested. Bluing is very good on the receiver and thinning on both. The buttstock is in good shape with marks from hunting. It still has the original Buffalo Horn FN butt plate. There are no cracks or chips in the wood. the dark lines in the forend are grain. The gun is solid clean and ready to hunt. Browning ceased operation at FN from 1946 to 1951 due to Belgian law and could only make weapons for the Belgian military during those years. During that period A5s were made by Remington. This gun was one of the last to come out of FN during that period. In 1951/52 production was restarted at FN and continued there until 1975.
