Description:
An original antique walking cane, with a hidden, long fencing foil blade hidden inside. Notice that the shaft of the cane is actually lacquered wood topped with a silver plated bird of prey head.The connection between the handle and shaft is a pressure fit. A simple pull on the handle and the foil is at the ready to thrust and Perry.The handle is a heavy metal, plated with silver. NOTE the silversmiths touch mark pointed out in the photos. The weight of the handle is also intended to be used as a cudgel. This cane measures 36 1/4” long overall. The metal 3 sided blade measures 27” long and needle sharp. Once you have withdrawn the blade from the wood shaft, you now have two weapons, one in each hand. The very hard sheath is used to slap and parry while the foil blade is used to thrust and jab.
What a great piece. An all original antique cane that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal collection.
