Description:
We have not seen in person or in pictures a flare gun from this time period in such good condition! This Walther SLD is stamped with "44" signifying a 1944 DOM. This flare gun features large, double-barrels chambered for 26.5 mm flares. The selector allows the shooter to select left, right or both chambers to be fired. The gun has not been test fired by us.
Our research indicates that there were approximately 4,000 of these made by Walther. Other manufacturers are noted, but we believe that Walther's production numbers are lower and more desirable. We've also found that being a Kriegsmarine item, these were designed for battleships and U-boats.
The entire gun is of museum quality. All wood on this flare gun shows no chips, scratches, or gouges. Please see pictures for details.
