Description:
General Specs: Mauser, 1942, 9mm, 31oz., 4″ Barrel
Serial Number:  6219h

Vintage Firearms Inc is pleased to offer this Mauser P.08 Luger serial number 6219h with chamber code 42.  This example features matching serial numbers on the barrel, frame, toggle and receiver axle, extractor, safety, safety lever, sear, side plate, firing pin and trigger, the exception is the take down lever numbered 08. The Hold open latch has the serial number 16, but it does not take much imagination to wonder if the 6 should have been a 9, maybe at the end of a long day the stamp was held upside down! We’ll never know, but I’m sure some interesting stories have been lost to time! Of note are the Waffenamt acceptance and proof marks on the right-hand side of the slide and barrel, often faint these impressions are clear and defined. The barrel has 90% original bluing remaining with some holster wear at the muzzle, the bore is very good, shiny with well-defined rifling. The receiver is 95% original with some rubbing on the high points, everything looks like legitimate wartime wear. The mechanicals function well, the safety operates with a very positive indent. There is no play in the action and the guns tolerances are still tight, the trigger breaks crisply, overall, the gun feels solid and precise. The pistol has one Schmeisser magazine with proof mark. A great addition to any collection! Thanks for looking.
