Description:
Marlin Model 338 MXLR lever action rifle with a 24" round barrel and half-length magazine tube. This example was manufactured in 2008. The left side of the barrel is marked "338MXLR" and "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / * * * MODEL 338MXLR – CAL. 338 MARLIN EXPRESS * * *" and is also marked with a "JM" proof at the rear of the barrel. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number. The right side of the barrel is marked with Marlin's two-line warning. The front sight is a hooded brass bead blade that is dovetailed to a serrated riser which is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up semi-buckhorn leaf with a U-notch and elevator that is dovetailed to the barrel. The scope is a "CABELAS PINE RIDGE LEVER ACTION 3-9x40" with 1" Weaver rings. The stocks are two-piece checkered gray laminate wood with a capped forearm and pistol grip, straight comb, sling stud in the belly and the forearm cap, and a black rubber Decelerator buttpad with a basket weave pattern. Comes with the factory matched box, but no owners manual. Excellent lightly used condition. .338 MAG
