Payment Types Accepted: Bank to bank wire transfer (preferred), or bank cashier's check only Description: ***SOLD*** Winchester 1873 in rare 22 Long caliber. S/N 174904 A made in 1884. This rifle has a crude repair of a loose barrel which consists of a pin through the receiver (probably wedging against the bottom flat of the octagon barrel) and a bit of JB Weld type material at the barrel/receiver union which remains slightly loose. It is being sold strictly as a curio or wallhanger and should not be loaded or fired under any circumstances without a thorough inspection and proper repair by a certified and competant gunsmith! With that said, here are the specs: Stamped 22 Long caliber 24" Octagon barrel with fair bore showing faint rifling and some general shallow pitting. Full length magazine tube. Crescent "trapdoor" buttplate (no cleaning rods present) Action components all seem to function smoothly and properly. Wood is in decent shape and is relatively sound with tight cracks at the toe, and another lengthwise on bottom of forend. Bluing has turned to a mottled grey color overall. While not on a par with my usual offerings, this rifle could serve as a relatively affordable and decent looking placeholder or conversation piece in a representative collection. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska is an additional $100. SOLD Antique: Yes |
