For your consideration, the Colt 1911 WW1 Commemorative semi-auto pistol chambered in .45 Auto. This pistol was made in 1967 to commemorate 50 years of American Involvement in World War 1. This one pays tribute to the Battle of Château Thierry, May 31 - June 5, 1918, during the second Battle of the Marne. One of the first major operations by American forces during the war, and where the 1911 forged its undeniable reputation. It features a high luster blued finish with gold-filled engraving, wood grips with medallions. The left grip has the American Eagle 1917-1918, the right grip has a medallion with the Allied nations and the Battle the pistol commemorates. .45 Auto
