Synopsis: Scarce Charola Y Anitua, second variation, Belgium, 5mm caliber pistol. Description: Rarely encountered Charola Y Anitua designed pistol as made/copied in Liege, Belgium, this example based on a second variation Charola pistol with the short serrated safety. Belgian proofs on left side of barrel extension and bolt. Later sold in Germany as reflected by the B. U. G. proofs under the barrel and on the right side of the receiver. The pistol is otherwise not marked except for the “STANDART” inscribed on the left side of the frame. Fitted with Charola-identical hard rubber grip with 5 pointed star over a finely checkered field. Rotatable lanyard ring. Condition: G-VG with fading and wear as one might expect from a pistol that has seen moderate use. Added rear sight as carefully photographed. Slightly dull bore with sharp easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
