Offered up for sale is a Field Grade Winchester Model 12 with a 28-inch barrel. This 16ga. shotgun is in very good condition with only minimal wear, given its age. The Winchester Model 12 was known as “The Perfect Repeater” with superb balance and dependability. The Model 12 16ga. was built on a 20ga. frame and is an outstanding gun for waterfowl, upland game birds and for taking to the range. It first went into production in 1912 and stayed in the Winchester lineup until 1964. This 16ga was manufactured as a Field Grade shotgun in 1941 and has serial number 916207. This Field Grade features a plain blued matted top receiver and barrel, a solid raised matted rib, a Winchester front bead metal sight, is chambered for 2¾-inch shells and is choked Full. The cross-lock safety operates horizontally across the front of the trigger guard. The famous Winchester slide action on this shotgun remains simple, smooth and durable. The pistol grip stock and slide handle (forearm) are made of American black walnut and are lacquer finished with a wax base. The butt plate is hard rubber, checkered diagonally with the round “Winchester” inscription in the center and attached to the stock by slot head screws. This 16ga weighs in at 7 lbs., has a LOP of 14 1/8” with an approximate drop at comb of 1 1/2" and 2 3/8"at heel.
