Conversion from Flintlock to Percussion
Here we present an antique Austrian Model 1798 Cavalry Pistol, made circa 1800. This is a large pistol that would have been originally made in flintlock before being updated to percussion. This would have been issued to cavalry troops needing something that would take down man or horse.
The overall condition is fair. Dark patina throughout. Crudely converted from flintlock to percussion, the action remains strong. The bore is smooth and dim. The stock has a noticeable split on the left side and shows much use. The trigger guard tang is cracked and held firm by the screws.
