Description:
This is an excellent condition Marlin 39 lever action rimfire rifle that was manufactured from 1922 - 1938. It shoots .22 S, L & LR ammunition. USE ONLY SUBSONIC OR STANDARD VELOCITY ammunition as early rifle bolts can be cracked by high velocity ammunition. The octagon barrel still retains most of the original blueing. The receiver and lever still retains a substantial amount of original casehardening with the casehardening almost like new on the tang under the lever. There is an early aperture sight mounted on the rear tang just in front of where the star is located on the tang. The Lyman front sight has what looks like a silver solder repair to where a brass bead may have existed before. The rifling is quite good. The wood on the forearm and buttstock match with the buttstock showing quite a lot of figure as would be seen with 2X wood. There is a bullseye in the bottom of the buttstock and it has the S shaped pistol grip. The hard rubber checkered Marlin buttplate has had a black epoxy repair to the toe of the buttplate. THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST EARLY MARLIN 39 RIFLES THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.
