Brls are scroll engraved at breech ends and top rib is engraved "Von Lengerke & Detmold, Inc. New York, NY. US Agents". Splinter forend with engraved Deeley latch release and iron and triangular ebony tip. The case hardened scalloped boxlock receiver is beautifully scroll engraved in about 90% coverage. Fences are fully scroll engraved and gun also has graceful sideclips. Gun made with double triggers, auto ejectors, and auto safety. The round knob pistol grip walnut buttstock is very nicely checkered through the wrist and terminates with its original makers brandered HRBP. Gun remains in superb all original condition with more than 95% original blue on barrels and trigger guard. Frame with more than 95% bright original case colors. Stocks are excellent and sound with more than 97% original wood finish remaining. Screw slots are stone cold perfect. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Gun is accompanied by a research file from Griffin and Howe documenting the gun when new and having been sold by them to Dr. H.E. Heitz who was a world wide hunter and sportsman from Bernardsville, NJ. This is a fantastic all original Pre-war Sauer in hard to beat high original condition. The gun has great provenance, too!
