This occupation-made pistol has matching numbers on the slide, frame, barrel, and muzzle extension with the metal retaining 97-98% of the original blue finish, that has silvered slightly at the muzzle, as well as along some of the high edges and projections. The factory markings and Waffenamt stamps are crisp and clear and there is no import mark present. The checkered wooden slab grips are in fine shape with scattered minor handling marks and blemishes on either panel, as well as some mild flattening of the points as well. The pistol is housed in a Luftwaffe pattern holster marked "Nur für lange Browning Pistole Kal. 7.65" ("Only for the long Browning Pistol cal. 7.65") on the inside of the "(Eagle) / 2" stamped cover flap. The ruddy-brown leather is in fine condition with minor crazing and scuffs as well as some mild crackling and flaking at the flex points. The fiberboard "ersatz" leather holster body is likewise in fine condition with only some very minor edge wear and handling marks. One of the tabs looks to have been re-stitched. Two correct Waffenamt marked magazines are included. This is a desirable German pistol and holster combination that is in excellent overall condition. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
