Description: Guns Listing ID: 1337962 A really nice example of a rifle built by Ceská zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod (CZ) and imported by Charter Arms. This particular rifle is in very good condition overall. We are a gunsmithing shop and have checked it out completely. The Vz. 52 is a semi-automatic rifle manufactured from 1952-1959. It is chambered in 7.62x45mm M52, a round longer than 7.62x39, but ballistically similar. This round was developed by Czechoslovakia after WWII when they saw the need for an intermediate rifle cartridge. This rifle and a similarly named machine gun were developed to utilize the round. The Vz. 52 was used during the Hungarian Revolution by Czechoslovakian troops supporting the Soviet Union. In 1957, the Soviets began pushing for Czechoslovakia to adopt 7.62x39mm as a standard issue cartridge, so the Vz. 52/57 was born. It is an identical rifle, except chambered in the Russian cartridge. These saw service for two more years, until the Vz. 58 rifle became standard issue for Czechoslovakian troops. The Vz. 52 lives on in a ceremonial role in the Czech Republic, similarly carried by honor guards to American M1 Garands and Springfield rifles. There is an inexpensive conversion ring available to convert the VZ 52 to shoot the 7.62X39 round for about $50 if you are so inclined. I will include with the purchase about two boxes of the 7.62x45 ammo which will have to be shipped separately from the rifle of course at your expense. .220 Swift brass can also be converted to the 7.62x45 dimensions for reloading if desired. I will consider reasonable offers on this rifle. SOLD Manufacturer: CZ Model: VZ52 Caliber Info: 7.62X45MM Condition: Used - Non-Certified Barrels: 20 BARREL Finish: WOOD |
