Description:
This Krieghoff Big Five "Classic" double rifle is chambered in the uncompromising .470 Nitro Express caliber. It has 23½" barrels with the express style quarter solid rib, sling swivel studs top and bottom, a 1" Decelerator butt pad, and a length of pull on the first trigger of 15" and the rear trigger 14¼". This rifle is designed with a hinged front trigger to protect your trigger finger when shooting the rear trigger, as the recoil will push the rifle backwards, driving the front blade into the back of that finger. It has a 'combi-cocking' lever that dominates the top tang. This cocking lever allows the rifle to be carried when fully loaded, without the fear of an accidental discharge. As the 'Big Five' is raised to the shoulder, the thumb pushes this lever forward ready for firing, but does not automatically decock the firing mechanism when the action is broken for reloading. This design is invaluable for dangerous game hunting where re-loading and subsequent shots must be executed in the fastest possible time. So you break the barrel, reload, raise it the shoulder and fire without the need to cock the action again. Simple and effective. The bluing is in excellent condition with virtually no handling wear visible. Likewise, the fore arm and butt stock are in excellent condition with no discernable handling wear, nor marks, chips or cracks.
