Description: Remington 760 in the very rare .222 Remington caliber. There were only 3000 of these rifles produced between 1958 and 1961. That's 1% of all 760s produced. This one in very good condition normal signs of use for a gun of this age. Its and early production model with a barrel date OD for July 1957. The left side of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. / PAT. NO. 2,685,754 OTHERS PENDING", ".222 REM". The left side of the receiver is marked "Remington / 309141" and "Gamemaster / MODEL 760". The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped base on top of the barrel. There is a semi buckhorn "U" notched elevator sight dovetailed to the top of the barrel. The stocks are two piece walnut with a serrated forend. The buttstock is a smooth pistol grip with serrated Remington aluminum butt plate. This rifle comes with a single blued steel magazine, marked on the right side with "222 REM". .222 Remington SOLD Chambers: Pump action. Metal Condition: Approximately 70% finish remaining. Most of the finish loss is from normal use. The magazine does have scattered corrosion spots that are pitting. Wood Condition: The stock has had finish work done and has a screw hole in the pistol grip bottom. The comb of the stock has wood plug fitted in the top. The forend has minor handling marks.
