I'm selling my collection. Here is an Antique Allen & Thurber 6 shot Double Action .31 caliber Percussion Bar Pepperbox Revolver, Rare variation with Engraved Nipple Shield. 3.1/2" barrels length, in a very good working condition. Allen's Patent Worcester 1837 made 1840s-1850s. They were very effective at short range, PepperBox with multi barrels were less expensive and simpler mechanically then Colt and other revolvers, they found great success and favored in the Civil War and "California Gold Rushers". The barrels were loaded as any muzzle loading arms of the time usually with a patch round ball, percussion caps were placed on the nipples at the breech (the barrels could be easily removed for loading, capping & cleaning by simply unscrewing the large screw at the muzzle). All visible on the pictures. What is not written on the description would be on the pictures. The round balls, patches & caps showed on one of the pictures are not for sale. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures.
