The slide and barrel are Tenifer-coated to resist corrosion while the cross-directional non-slip grip ensures a positive hold and greater control. Suitable for law enforcement and other security professionals as well as personal protection for the civilian market the PPQ is available in a number of different calibers with varying capacities.

The styling is elegant and trim with a sculpted grip that meshes smoothly into the hand. The Quick Defense trigger works in conjunction with a fully pre-loaded striker assembly. Because the firearm is in a constant cocked state the striker does not protrude from the back of the slide. The frame has interchangeable backstraps and a Picatinny Mil-Spec rail. It has low profile 3-dot sights with a windage adjustable rear. The PPQ M1 is available in limited quantities.
