Description:
SOLD Early ( 1863 ) Remington New Model Army in very good condition. The "New Model " description is not included in the second address line as is the case of early 1863 produced guns. However it is apparent from the patent date and serial number. A mechanically tight, martially marked gun with a visible cartouche on the left grip and sub- inspectors initials throughout. A fair amount of original finish is present with the balance turning a slight plum color. A brass period sight has replaced the original.
The bore is very good with strong rifling present. The two piece wood grips show handling wear but are in good condition. Civil War research has attributed this gun most likely to the 4th Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry, based on serial number records. Letter  on this research is included.
An above average Civil War revolver which would be a fine addition to your collection. Price $1950 plus $40 shipping. Thanks for looking.
