Description:
Winchester Model 1897 pump action Trench Gun chambered in 12 Gauge. Adopted for use in 1899 by the US military and in service into the Vietnam War. The serial number (E675397) indicates that the shotgun was produced in late 1918 or early 1919 and is in the realm of First World War produced trench guns. Correct U.S. and Ordnance stamps on right side of receiver in front of the ejection port. Heat shield may be a later replacement, but "Pat. Appl. For" stamp on right side of bayonet lug is period correct. Buttstock appears to be a later replacement. Comes with a Winchester M1917 bayonet and scabbard. 12 Gauge
