US Model 1842 Musket dated 1848 converted to Fowler approximately 70 caliber with a 32:75" barrel and a bead front sight. The functioning lock has the federal eagle over US and is marked Springfield 1848. The dark walnut stock has been cut to one band, all metal is dark brown with some pitting near the breach. The action is strong. Many of these old muskets 1842 muskets were used during the Mexican and US Civil War. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
