Payment Types Accepted: money order Description: Here is a rare rifle from the 1870s. It is a Whitney Phoenix. I used to see these frequently at gun shows back in the 1960s but I haven't seen one now in years. This rifle is a heavy well-made gun but unusual in the way it works. The breechblock opens to the side which I tried to show in the photos. The extractor only pushes the case back a short distance so the shooter can grab it and pull it out the rest of the way. Wood, bore, and action are in good shape. No rust or pitting and close to 100% of the case colors are still there and vivid. Shipping and insurance are include in the price to the lower 48. This is an antique so no paperwork needed. Please, no texts.
