Up for sale is a CMP M1 Special (30-06) with a Winchester receiver. The CMP specials consist of a new production walnut stock and handguard set with CMP cartouche, a new production barrel and new sling. The receiver and most other parts are refinished USGI, but some parts may be new manufacture. When offered by the CMP the specials started with collector grade metal, a new barrel and stock. All parts are within specifications and are refinished.
The Criterion barrel is probably better than the new original GI barrels and are known to be accurate shooters. This rifle is in the same condition as when initially received from the CMP - not having been shot since then. The lockup of the trigger assembly to the stock is tight.
The cosmetic condition of the rifle is as seen in the pictures. The barrel muzzle gauge reading is “1” as would be expected with a new barrel. The rifle ships with the CMP case and packing as originally received.
