Description:
Spencer Civil War Carbine post war alteration 50 cal 56-50 Bore Exc, Mech Exc, Wood VG plus nice wood with excellent cartouche. Has a original 22” barrel with original sights, Has 6 groove rifling. The receiver has the spencer address and patent date markings on top of the receiver. VG some is excellent and some is weak but mostly visible. Serial#17611 matching the barrel . the barrel is serial numbered under the rear sight spring. Metal overall has an aged grey patina finish with traces of fine pitting. The receiver has case coloring visible on the left side and the internal parts when the action is open has bright case coloring. Springfield research has this carbine and many others issued to Co K 11th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry
