Description:
Westley Richards & Co. 1970's Vintage 12g Sidelock Ejector.
Based on an H&H type bar-action sidelock with intercepting sears, gold-lined cocking indicators, a rolled guard bow for the RH shooter, two triggers, and an automatic safety, the word "SAFE" inlayed in gold.
The square bar action is nicely filed, brushed bright, and has a full coverage deluxe bold acanthus scroll engraving with the Maker's name in gold.
The 28" chopper lump barrels have a smooth concave game rib, 2 3/4" chambers, and are choked .003" and .010" in the left barrel. The gun has 1977 B'ham proof marks.
A nicely figured walnut stock has a 14 7/8" LOP over a checkered butt with straight grip and a diamond shaped hand and traditional drop points. It has a flat top checkering with Mullered borders on the grip and the splinter forend that has an Anson push rod release and Southgate ejectors. The original stock shield remains blank.
Overall, the gun is very nice with almost all of its original black on the barrels and furniture. The receiver is brushed to a "coin" finish, and the stock shows a few handling marks but remains all original.
