Description:
Based on an original W.R.&Co. Model 1897 Single Shot originally chambered for .280 Ross and was sleeved to a .22 Hi Power Savage.
All the original components are present with a 24" barrel sleeved to .22 Hi Power with Westley's patented foresight and retrofitted with a Ruger No. 1 style quarter rib that accepts Ruger scope rings.
Original stock has a RH cheekpiece, full pistol grip cap, and a 14 1/4" LOP over a traditional rubber recoil pad. Hook eye sling swivel on the toe line and one mounted to the bottom of the barrel. A horn grip cap and forend tip.
Overall good condition with an excellent bore. Stock was refinshed long ago, presumably when the pad was installed, and the barrel rust blued when the rib was put on. Colors on the action look to be original.
Overall a neat rifle on a wonderful action made by Westley's prior to WWI.
