Up for is a Rare Matched Pair of Winchester John Wayne 100th Anniversary model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbines in the Desirable .44-40 Win caliber. These have the 18 1/2" barrels and large Loop levers that all of John Wayne's movie rifles were required to have. There were only 1000 of the Custom Grade carbines made and a total of 4000 High Grade carbines made in 2007. This set consists of a Custom Grade and a High grade carbine. Each features engraving and custom embellishments as well as highly figured, grade 5/6 satin Walnut stocks with spade checkering. The first 1000 of the 4000 High Grade rifles were matched with the 1000 Custom Grade rifles and were only available as a matched set. The only way to buy a Custom Grade was to buy the set. They are serial numbered the same, with the exception of a "C" for the Custom and an "H" for the High Grade. The condition is mint and excellent. Both rifles are in their original boxes. The boxes are also in excellent condition. The paperwork is included.
