Description:
Krag Jorgensen "Rough Rider" Carbine  issued to The 1st.Volunter Cavalry for use in the Spanish American War in Cuba.  Serial # 28984 is in the first group of carbines issued to the"Rough Riders".  Receiver marked 1895, Mfg. in either Nov. or Dec. 1895, 22inch barrel, type B stock with 3 hole for cleaning rod, has the correct cleaning rod, correct C marked 700/2000 yds. rear sight round at top of leaf and front edges of slide, front sight is type 1 blade. Stock has the correct inspectors cartouche of J.S. Adams initials in script J.S.A. and 1896 in rectangular box with beveled corners. Has original firing proof P in a circle bihind tigger guard. Would rate the bore a 8/9 of 10, wood is in excellent condition for its age, no cracks or peices missing. The only negative I can find is barrel looks to have been cleaned.
Here is a chance to own a rare Lt. Colonel Theodore  Roosevelt led 1st Volunteer Cavalry know as the "Rough Riders" who took Kettle Hill Cuba in the Spanish American War.
