Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful Springfield model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen Carbine in 30-40 Krag. This gun retains much of the original blue and an exceptional amount of factory finish on the stocks. There is some pitting on the magazine box and the trigger guard has a fine patina. The barrel is 22 inches long, the stock has a ~13 1/4 inch LoP with the factory butt plate hiding the armory issued takedown tool. The bore is in excellent condition, and this carbine would make a great addition to any collection! Being a true 1898 carbine this is one of the most rare varients of the Krag Jorgensen repeater, and it is in as good of shape as I have ever seen one. The only modifications that have been make are the addition of sling swivels. The stock was drilled but the front swivel is just clamped on the barrel and can easily be removed to obtain the original look of the gun. The rear sight is in excellent working order and has windage adjustments as a true 1898 carbine should. All actioning parts of this gun work smoothly. It has been well cared for over the last ~126 years!
