VERY FINE MODEL '06 PUMP RIFLE IN .22 SHORT, LONG & LONG RIFLE, #662XXX, MADE1928. This is an interesting model that was actually a scaled down Model 1890 for the "Boys' Rifle" market. It would be a lucky kid to receive one of these as a gift instead of the typical single shot .22 most kids got! Usually these are found in rough condition, having been "loved to death" by their original owners. this one shows fine wood with only light handling. The barrel retains fine blue with only very minor scuffing/dulling. The mag tube blue is aged a bit more with a good bit of uncleaned plum/brown mixing mainly on the lower 2/3. Original sights and exc. markings. The receiver shows good bright blue with a little thinning on the sides and exc. blue on the bolt. and receiver ring etc. The upper and lower tangs are gray from handling. It has the correct Winchester embossed hard rubber butt plate, strong safety half-cock and tight action with matching numbers and tight takedown. The bore is only a little dark with good rifling and some light surface scattered pitting- better than usually found on these. Original small buckhorn rear sight with small blade front. Normally not seen with this much finish.
