Description:
Quite scarce and very respectable Winchester 54 in 30 WCF (30-30). S/N 31304A with matching scribed bolt made in 1930.
One of a mere handful that has somehow dodged the host of major value killing alterations usually seen on this model such as total refinish, extra drill holes, recoil pads, bolt handle alterations, etc. etc. There are VERY few survivors left from the original only 50,000 made of this forerunner to the famous Model 70.
This one shows about 90% original finishes with some anticipated handling marks and light clean up. It has a 24" barrel with an excellent bore, along with smooth and proper mechanical functions.
The rear receiver bridge remains undrilled and it still wears the expensive, factory inletted and installed long slide Lyman 48 rear receiver/peep sight with matching component #s.
As mentioned, there have been no alterations to the bolt handle (nor underlying wood).
