Description:
BROWNING MODEL 71 Rifle in .348 Winchester. Browning came out with a copy of the Winchester model 71 in 1986. They were only made for two years, 1986-87. Only 3000 rifles were produced. They also made 4000 carbines according to the Blue Book. This one is in really good shape but has been used. A pachmayr recoil pad has been added. These are fairly brutal to shoot with the steel buttplate but maybe you are tougher than I am. Check out the pictures carefully, there are a few small wear marks in the metal up by the muzzle. The wood also has some small scratches in the plastic finish. None of these appear to be more than surface scratches and might be able to be buffed out. According to the original owner, this has been shot less than 100 rounds. The bore looks great and the action is smooth and locks up tight. The .348 Winchester cartridge is a powerful one, suitable for Elk, Moose, and Bears. Ammo is available, but if you handload you have more options including shooting cast bulletts. This rifle is nice enough to show to your friends, but has just enough experience so that you won't worry about using it. Have Fun!
