Description:
COLT 70 Series 1911 .45 ACP Semi Custom Pistol. This Colt 1911 belonged to a good friend of mine who is no longer with us. He purchased it new in about 1981 I believe. He wanted the stronger springs of the standard model so he did not buy a Gold Cup. He took it to a gunsmith in the Salt Lake City area called Barlow's. He had Bo-Mar sights installed, he replaced the Magazine housing with a really nice checkered backstrap and a beveled magazine well. He had the rear of the slide checkered to avoid glare. They installed a new trigger that is amazing. They put on a commander hammer and a beavertail grip safety. The pistol was also accurized. My friend sold it to me in the 1990s. I have shot it occasionaly over the years, probably less than 100 rounds. I don't shoot 1911s very well, but I have no trouble keeping 5 shots in 2 inches at 25 yards with this one from a bench. It is in nearly perfect condition with only some light wear on the sharp edges of the slide, mostly at the muzzle. This is a good one!
