Description:
This is the never seen original Remington Double Barrel Derringer that was made for a short period of months with no extractor and with barrel dates and addresses on the sides. There were only a few of these made out of the eventual 135,000 production. This pistol has been cleaned during its life, but it is solid and all stampings are easily read. The mechanics are crisp and the firing pin indexes properly. Bores are dirty but may clean up better. Hinges are perfect. I have been involved with antique guns for sixty years and have only seen photos of this scarce model. I have never seen one in person before. The Pearl grips have some cracking and a chip at the top of one, but they are 160 years old...it's the Holy Grail
of all Remington derringers. No FFL required. Buyer stipulates it is legal for him to own this gun.
