Description:
F. W. Heym boxlock O/U two barrel set, combination gun 16 gauge over .30-06 and 16 over 16.
Proof date 1965/66 this is an actual two barrel set numbered to the frame. The 16/16 barrels are 28 ½” with solid rib with ejectors and are choked extra full/extra full (.035” each). The 16/.30-06 barrels are 23 ½” long with solid rib, fixed rifle sight with extractors and the shotgun tube is choked even tighter at .045”, XXF!!
The boxlock receiver is very reminiscent of other German guns of the era like Sauer and Merkel with scalloped receiver, cocking indicators, double triggers, manual safety. The front (bottom) trigger is adjustable for the rifle barrel. Also like other German makers the receiver is game scene engraved with rabbits on the right side, ducks on the left, and coin finished. The trigger guard is black plastic. Note: a little known fact is that horn and plastic were used on trigger guards because metal trigger guards got so cold that your can could stick to it!
The stock has a raised cheek piece for a right hand shooter. The LOP is 14 ¼” over an added 1” recoil pad. The stock is fitted with a sling swivel as both sets of barrels are. The drop at comb is 1 ¾” with 3” DAH.
Weighs 6 lbs. 6 oz. with the combination barrels and 6 lbs. 5 oz. with the shotgun barrels.
