Description:
For your consideration, the U.S. Springfield trapdoor single-shot rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt. The 1884 rifle began its life in 1884, quite similar to the 1873, but had an enhanced sight. These rifles were used in the Spanish-American War and in the Philippines, until there were replaced by Krag–Jørgensen rifles like the 1898 and 1899. This model has a cartouche on the stock with the year 1888. .45-70 Government
