Description:
This example is a Colt Mark IV Government Model Series 70 in 45 auto. The gun was manufactured in 1973 - 1974 with serial 70G69363. The Colt lists this serial number as both years? The markings on the left slide; "COLT'S MK IV/SERIES '70 / GOVERNMENT MODEL / .45 AUTO CALIBER" and with a Rampant Colt logo. The right of the frame is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." with the serial number. The right side of the slide is marked "COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL". The top of the barrel is marked "COLT .45 AUTO. / MK.IV/SERIES '70". The left of the trigger guard is marked "VP" in a triangle at the rear and "A" at the front. The right trigger guard bow is marked "E". The front sight is a serrated ramped blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The arched mainspring housing is also serrated. The grips are two-piece textured wood with silver colt medallions. Come in a wood grain / styrofoam Colt box, the box is missing one end flap. It also comes with one Colt marked .45 AUTO magazine. .45 Auto
