Description:
Here we present a very nice WWII era German Model 98 (K98) chambered in 8mm Mauser. This rifle was manufactured in 1940 and has the highly sought after "ax" code stamped on the receiver. The S/N (6114) on the receiver and barrel are matching, but the rest of the visible numbers are not matching. The 23-1/4" barrel has a very good bore with strong rifling. The rifle is in overall Good-Very Good Condition showing some signs of use. The metal retains about 85% of its original finish with some spots of light gray patina. The wood is in good shape as well with the usual light dings/abrasions consistent with a rifle of this age. The rifle was imported by Navy Arms and is tastefully marked on the underside of the barrel where it is barely noticeable. This would make a fine addition to any military collection.
