Description:
This bayonet was manufactured in 1918 by the Rock Island Arsenal. The 15 7/8" unsharpened blade is blued with most of the original finish in excellent condition, no chips, nice tip. The guard and pommel show light handling and use marks. The handle is the original wood scales with a dark patina and what I read as H stamped into the right scale on the top. Locking mechanism works fine and attaches correctly to scabbard and rifle. This M1910, marked R.I.A. 1922, scabbard is in excellent condition with intact and correct leather over wood interior and an excellent canvas cover free from tares and very little age soiling.
